Monitor won't work in safe mode

Hello,
F8 would not put my XP Windows into safe mode. I went thru RUN - MSCONFIG to put in safe mode, but now my monitor doesn't seem to receive signal even though I hear computer running?

hi there,

what is the reason for booting in safe mode?

is there any other issue?

hello it happens to me too..
i just need to go in to safe mode to take some backups of windows systems files..

my version is xp pro performance october 2008 sp3..... monitor or graphic card does not work in safe mode.. monitor goes out of signal.. blanks.. please help anyone !.. any solution ideas ?

and sorry i forgot to mention but this is important..
this xp install is fresh.. nothing made.. only installed audio and graphic adapter drivers and some little programs.. so this shows that maybe this is a problem with my graphic drivers ? or with this version of xp maybe ?
