Itunes download problem

Hello,
I used to have itunes running on my computer, a Dell inspiron, running vista. suddenly it all stopped working so I uninstalled everything from apple and tried to reinstall. everytime i go onto an apple website it closes my internet explorer. Help!

and for browser delete the cookies and clear the cache
