Cannot repair windows

I recently purchased a new motherboard, cpu and a sata hard drive. I got an error saying that i needed to repair windows due to the new hardware I added. Whenever I boot from my XP disc it starts loading files and drivers, then goes to a blue error screen and dead stops. I have made sure my drives are set to IDE and I am completely lost as to what to try next. Can anyone please help me out? Thanks in advance.

hi there,

if the drive is sata

then you need to configure it to sata

For now, i dont have the sata drive hooked up, im trying to get my original hard drive to start up.
