Returning a word from a sentence in cell

Hello,

I have a spreadsheet that lists "Work request" and other words and phrases in an excel cell. I would like to just return the word "work" in a separate cell, and then add up all the "works" once they are in different cells. Can you help? Also, the word "work" starts at the same position in every cell in th ecolumn.
