Limitations of broadband modem

Hello,
i have purchased a new bsnl broadband connection i am having 2 computers one is nearby and another is in 30 meter distance when i am connecting the two computers the second computers showing message limited or no connectivity i have checked the cable it showing good i am connecting the two computers with bsnl broadband modem i have purchased BSNL 750 plus plan will anyone help me to solve this problem i have replaced the lan card. the first computer internet is working fine .

change the uplink port on the modem
and try again may be the modem is not holding the cable properly
