How to downgrade win vista to xp

Hello,
I have hp dv5 1070ee laptop, and it is preloaded windows vista, i wanted to downgrade it from windows xp.i tried but it wont work..can you give me the step by step how to remove the windows vista and replace it to windows xp?Pls. help me to solve my problem...many thanks
