HOW DO I GET THE GREATER THAN SYMBOL ON SONY

Hello,
I have these pink symbols on my sony vaio laptop and one of them is the greater than symbol a.k.a the arrow key. How do I get that to work? Everytime I keep pressing it where its located it I get a slash symbol. Can someone help me???

Dear Sir,

Please use the shift key to get it. If it still doesn't work, please please the fn key and then try typing it.

It should work then.
