Hello,
I have a question regarding an older laptop. I recently updated my HP4150 laptop from Win NT to XP Pro to make it easier to use. The machine as a USB port, but it wasn't supported by WIN NT. I installed XP, but the port is still unresponsive.
I checked the Computer Management / Device Manager area, but I don't see any entries for Universal Serial Bus.
Looking for suggestions on how to get this USB port working. I am currently in India, and would love to download some photos from my camera to share with others at home.
Thanks in advance for any help!!

hi,
so what you can do if the computer isnt recognising the usb port :
1) go to the control panel menu
2) click on the add new hardware button if you cant see it then click on the switch to classic view
3) click on the next button
4) windows will try to search for the new hardware
5) click on the tab- yes i have already connected the device
6) follow the wizard and choose usb root
7) restart your computer
8) normally it should be ok because win xp works correctly with usb 1.0
if its not good then try to rewrite here on the forum
see you
