Cannot format my baseline 4gig usb stickClosed

Hello, i bought a new usb stick when i plug it in it says the usb stick is not formatted when trying to format on my computer right click and click format it say windows was unable to complete the format; have tried to search for viruses or scan the device it says its working properly please assist....

Dear Sir,

It might be that the USB Stick is write protected, please consider removing the write protection
