Hello,

I have a massive load of virus on the cpu. I was trying to re-install Windows XP Pro, but the CPU has been upgraded to Service Pack 2 and the cd is only Windows XP Pro. It will not let me re-install the OS, because the OS on the system know is a newer version. So I tired to uninstall the service pack 2 and now I have the blue screen of death. It will not boot from the cd, and it will not re-start in safemode, nothing.

Help me please. I have a Windows Vista Disk, can I put this in the cd tray and install that on the system? Will it work? What are my options, please advise.

Thanks

hi there,

configure your bios and allow booting from cd

you can also make cd drive on boot priority

then insert xp disk and install your xp os

then after installation you can install the updates from Microsoft

concerning vista if you have the requirements to run it

then you can boot from the cd and run setup

Thanks
