My hp laptop blacked out

Hello,
my hp pavillion laptop blacked out . the screen is is dark and i need to use torch light to work on it ...it is difficult and i cannot do without my laptop. i tried calling hp service and they said that my laptop has back light issue and will have to pay $430 ...plz can anybody hellp me

If the light of your screen went out then you should pay for the repairs.
