msn major problem! help! Closed

Hello,
well for the past two years my msn (windows live) hasn't worked at all.
It signs in, but after 2 minutes or so it signs me out again, this continues..
but web messenger works fine?
The thing that frustrates me is though, that i take my laptop round my friends house and msn works fine.
I know this must have something to do with my connection i figured, but what?
I've just about had enough of this now, advice? I WANT MY MSN BACK! :(

Hi Jodie,

I dont know if this could be related to a similar problem I had with XBox/AIM.  But it sounds like it could be your modem.  I was using Charter High Speed when my internet was doing the same thing.  After about a year of complaining to the tech's at Charter that it was not my wireless router they came out and replaced the cable modem.  After the cable modem was replace everything worked fine until I moved out last spring.

if you have a router try port forwarding.

it could be your AV or your firewall.

the port for msn messenger is 	1863      so add an exception to your firewall and/or AV.
