My laptop WONT format

Hello,
My laptop is an Acer. I have window vista and I HATE it so i tried to format my computer so that I could install XP but the thing is my laptop WONT format it keeps saying that files are corrupted. Why is it saying there? I scan my computer with Norton 360 every week. Could it be a virus? What can I do? T_T

hi there,

rest assured its not a virus

you need to disable sata in bios to proceed with downgrade

from vista to xp then reboot from installation disc
