Cannot get wireless working

Hello,
I recently had my computer formatted, and since then I cannot get internet use from my wireless router, the only internet I can access is through using the blue internet cable. I have tried re-installing my D-link router, but nothing seems to work. I own a dell inspiron 6400 if that makes any difference. Can anyone help?
