Need to restore to factory setting on my Dell

Hello,
So my computer got a virus and in the mix of getting that removed my computer has been messing up. I want to restore my Dell laptop to the original factory setting but the error is not allowing me to. I have the operating systems CD but it is not working either. the error I get is: ERROR: the factory image could not be found please reinstall using the operating system media dvd. and it appears once I click on restore dell factory settings. does any one know how to fix this?? PLEASE HELP ME!!

hi there,

you must boot from it

and by booting there is no reason it gives error except the disk is corrupted
