Acer aspire one wount boot to win xp

Hello,
i have a acer aspire one laptop that wont boot up to win xp after post but after post when i hit ctrl+alt+del it will restart the post and boot to xp win i go to the bios the HDD dont show up but when i dot the post restart and then go to the bios the HDD shows up what can i do to fix this laptop?

It could be the hard drive is starting to fail and needs more time to get up to speed when it's powered up.

If true, this problem requires the replacement of the hard drive.
