No Picture when connecting my Mac to Bravia

Hello,
I hooked up my MacBook to my Bravia TV but nothing happens (Mac does recognize that there is a TV hooked up to it) My friend said she switched between Video 1,2,3 on her TV and it on of them shows a picture from her Mac but I can't get it work, please help!!!

You need two things to make it work:
1. the TV has to be set to use the input port (that video 1 2 3 thing your friend told you about)
2. the laptop need to activate the output video port. I don't know if the Mac has CRT/ LCD key that turns on the external video port, PCs use a function key to do this.
3. (I forgot there is a number 3) the video resolution (screen size) must be reconciled between the two devices.
