Hello,
I HAD A HARD DRIVE FAILURE AND AFTER REPLACING IT WAS SOLD A RECOVERY CD BY TOSHIBA. WHEN I TRIED TO USE IT I WAS SURPRISED WHEN I GOT THE ERROR MESSAGE "WRONG COMPUTER" I BELIEVE THIS TO BE BECOUSE OF THE NEW HARD DRIE BUT I DO NOTKNOW WHAT TO DO TO REMEDY THIS. IF ANYONE CAN HELP I WOULD REALLY APRECIATE IT.

I would check with TOSHIBA to verify that it is the correct CD. These recovery CDs are specific to the laptop model. You might be able to have a repair shop use their copy of the OEM Windows CD (using you COA key) and download the needed device drivers.

Good Luck

You may try a third party data recovery solution. Well, I have used the Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software for hard drive recovery.
