dell laptop backup reduced to 40mins with win Closed

Hello,
 when i installed windows 7 in my dell laptop, battery backup got reduced to 40 mins,but it works fine with xp and vista.can u please help me?

Hi Chetan,

Since you already witnessed the difference concerning your battery when using different type of operating  system, I will give you some advice to increase your battery life using windows 7:

-adjust the brightness of your screen
-do not use increase and use higher brightness
-do not activate screen saver for little time limits like 5 ,10 ,20 make it higher as it will consume more power
-adjust your power settings so it turns off the screen when not use for certain period of time
