Hello,
I am using the stock HSF provided
with my intel p4 ht 3.06ghz(idling at 24C, fl load 42C). when the fan changes its speed with increase of cpu temp, it emanates a high pitched flute-like sound. i discovered that the sound might be coming out of the contact vibration between the fan and heatsink. but i am not able to stop it anyway. please provide some good inputs without advising to replace the HSF.
THANKS...

I had the same problem. When i start my pc my fan makes a loud noise. So i tried to open the fan clean it and give some oil like machenical oil safely but not much. Then I tried to run it up down and round softly. And my fan was fixed
