Hello,
I was getting a pop up trying to sell me 2010 anti spy ware. every time I tried to close it, it went to the windows internet explorer (I use Fire Fox). It keeps saying my computer had E-mail worm win 32.anse ta, Backdoor win 32K, some Trojan Horses and win 32.netsky among other things. Now I can not boot the unit. If I try all the options after pressing F8 I will see my screen with a large note that the computer is corrupted and will not function.

Is it possible to be able to reboot and clear the infections without loosing all my data and programs? The unit is a 2 year old dell Latitude 620.

I did get a drivers and utility set of 2 discs withe the computer and a XP pro SP 2 disc.

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.17

Its possible to do a Windows XP repair/install and still retain your data/programs - see instructions here:

I tried to boot up using my XP disk with no luck. I guess the problem is the worm or spy ware. When the unit boots up I get a warning that Win32.NetSky has infected my computer. When I press OK my icons try to load with a black square in the background telling me to run a scan. There is also a bubble telling me to click on to get the software (I think this is were the problem is). Then the screen freezes and I have to shut down the computer. When I try again I sometimes get a blue screen telling me to try to run in safe mode, which doesn't work. The error code is 700000E. Is is it possible to start my computer with a anti virus program that can clean up the problem, or do I need to send it to someone?

Thanks,

This is a nasty virus. It might be best to get a repair shop fix it.

Good Luck
