Acer Aspiar Laptop

Hello,
I have a Hitachi 160Gb sata Hard disk.I connected it to my pc.Power supply connected to the hard disk is of legacy port type.
The hard disk is detecting in windows,but i cannot format it in windows.
so i tried to format it using windows xp disk.
The setup is loading,i can even partition the disk. But when i tries to format the disk,an error occurs.
It says that the scsi device might be damaged,so F3 To Quit

Hi there,

You need to disable sata/native mode before proceeding with xp installation cd,log in bios and disable it.link below from Faq will guide you:
