Will I get me photos and video files back?

Hello,
I have four partitions in my computer. I reinstalled windows Xp in the C drive . But not able to view some photos in the D drive. It says preview not availabe and access denied. But it shows that it is stored in place. But not able to view or copy it. Can I get it back? They r very very valuable photos and video which r very sentimental to me. At any cost I need to get it back? Plllllllllllllls help me
