Laptop Screen goes black

I have a Dell laptop. It will load and the screen will work, then the screen is black. When I restart the computer the "Safe Mode" options come on. The screen works fine in Safe Mood and I have run disc clean ups and defrags and still no change. Someone even suggested to press fn and f6 at the same time. Didn't work.

it sounds like you have turned on the external monitor setting or have installed the wrong video driver.
1. try Fn + F8 to toggle the external video port (the function key should be marked CRT/LCD)
2. Download the latest video driver for your laptop from Dell and install it.
