Installing windows problem

Hello,

I have already installed and worked with windows XP. then i tried installing ubuntu 8.04 , it failed installing .
now Windows is not booting up. I have formatted the entire hard disk using it as slave in another system. Then I tried to install windows from scratch but windows installation shows message as "hard disk not detected". can u suggest me a way to make my system working.
