Cannot download adobe flash on my computer,

Hello,
I am having trouble downloading Adobe Flash to my windows xp computer.......I can now get youtube, but nothing else, this is a new computer and I would like to be able to get the same things I got on my old computer, but, have had no luck downloading Flash.........have even had the tech I got the computer from trying to do it, but all he could do was make it possible for me to get youtube. ............any help would be appreciated.
