Xp installation problem on laptop

Hello,
I have problem with xp installation on my hp laptop dv 2601tx.bcz while installing it gives error message " ins cant conti,hard disk is connected to your computer".and thus restart again...so please help me to solve this problem. thank you

Did this laptop come with Vista installed? Many newer laptops come with SATA hardware that Windows XP install disk can't work with. Google "SATA AHCI" for more information.
