No audio input

Hello,
My mikrophone does't work on my computer.i can hear very good with my headphones, but i have tried the microphone and it won't work. i think there is a problem with the audio input.
i ma running a dell vostro 1400

Hi there,

Right click on the sound icon on system tray,press on recording devices>properties>level and advance tab,raise the level if low and make a test.
