Lcd monitor in Laptop

Hello,
I have a MSI laptop. I broke the display of my laptop. I need to replace the old one with new one! but it is almost half price of whole brand new laptop. So I have decided not toreplace the old one! Rather I have unpluged it. I tried to fit another lacd Monitor using TV out plugin. But it displays ALTDR is missing. How can i fix the problem?
Please help me!
