Hey guys, I have a problem with my pc. 1st it wouldn't stay on,it would jst cut off n not boot up (wouldn't even detect monitor). So I had a look inside the tower and noticed a burn mark on 1 of the ram slots (attached to motherboard) and 2 black marks on the gold connectors of the ram stick. I guess this was the prob. So I have taken the stick out but the pc still doesn't work, it beeps to say the stick has been removed, but do you think I can put a higher ram in the 1 slot that works and leave the other slot empty, or will the pc still beep and not boot up?? PLEASE HELP ME many thanks jamie
My motherboard is ASRockP4VM800 by the way. (not that this matters at mo) lol

Hi there,

To work with only 1 memory stick is not a problem but if the mother board has become defective with the burnout then you will need to replace the motherboard.

Thanks
