Laptop won't recognize dvd-r discs

But it recognizes everything else!-Games, cds, dvds, etc.-In other words I can't seem to find anything wrong with the drive. Can someone help me?

Dear Mesa,

Please check whether the problem that you are experiencing doesn't come from defective lens. Please get it cleaned up without causing any further damage to it to see whether it works properly them.

it worked! i had the same problem, i just cleaned with a soft cloth and now it works. thank you!
