Dvd rom not reading all cds

Hello,my dvd rom is reading some special cds(original cds only), & write cds are not working.
please help me.if i have to change it then from where?

Hi there,

As you mentioned its a dvd rom,thus it will not write to cds you need to purchase a cd/dvd write instead.
