Hello,
I am having some serious issues regarding my Realtek Audio Card. I'll start my system up and within 10 Minutes (I need to cut down on startup programs) I will recieve an Error Message like:

Realtek Audio Card: Variable/Number/Something-or-Other is out of bounds (-1)

Now I read this thread and thought Hey that might work. I got another error message:

There are no active Mixer Devices available.

According to Device Manager and SiSoft Sandra 2005 there is one.

I am running an Core 2 Duo E4500 @2.20 GHz (each), with an nVidia 8500GT and 2GB RAM. The Audio Device in question is calling itself Realtek High Definition Audio and the OS is XP:SP2

Any help would Be appreciated.

What type of motherboard do you have installed? Or what is your PC's make and model?

Hello,

I think ur sound card was installed with an obsolet version of the Realtek HD audio driver, which does not support SP2.

Uninstall ur sound card.
Download the driver last version here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
Re-install ur sound card.

Okay, sorry folks I forgot to add something.

My card has been working for the last few months, recently I had to move it around but now it's back where it was. At first all my problems where coming from the Vista Transformation Pack but now I've uninstalled that (thanks to a Bakup .reg file). It has only been in the last day or two that my Sound Card is stuffing around.

Where do I find my Mobo?

Open up your case and it should be stamped on the motherboard. Is this a home made pc or a brand name one, if it's a brand name one, the make and model of the pc wil tell us if it's a customized driver, if it's not, realtek's support page is where to go for the driver.

I got it from a PC shop near where I live... Not from Dell, or Alienware.
I'll ask them.

well you could simply restore your computer config or it might be in the inf files so if you have a Restoration disk or cd use it!!! cause it looks like the error is from the windows and if you have an OS then it's the same case
you try what I'm telling you then tell me if you found any prob
or you can uninstall the device then reupdate its info but don't forget to delete its info after uninstalling so you could replace them when you are updating it
