Hello,

I am struggling to generate different page numbers in a text in word 2007 (e.g. i, ii,... for the first three pages and 1,2,... for the other pages).

Many thanks for your help

Insert the section break on where you want to re-start page numbering
then go to page number format, and choose the format. make sure that you select the "start at" instead of cont.

For word 2007

1. Add the page number (you have already done that, i guess)
2. go to page layout tab
3. Go to the very start of the page 4
4. Click on break and choose the option that suits you. Let say you use continuous
5. Go to Insert tab
6. click on page number and choose format page number
7. there you can choose the format you want and click option "start at" and give value 1
