Problem uploading pics

Hello,
I have this problem uploading pics from my 1gb memory card which i use on my sony cybershot digicam. Normally i just use my card reader to upload pics and it used to work pretty well before but suddenly i have been getting this prompt " please insert disc into drive F". I tried using different card readers and they dont seem to work. Now im quite worried that my memory card is the one that has a problem. How do I go about this? Im afraid that I wont be able to save my pics. Can someone help me pls? Is there any other way that I can transfer the pics to my pc, likewise I dont have the USB cable of my cam anymore. Thanks
