Hi there,
You do not need usb data cable to connect mobile to internet all you need to do it to configure it for the service ,for that you need to contact your sim card network provider and request them manual settings to activate the service on handset,data cable is used to connect handset to pc for file transfer and also use mobile phone as modem.
