i switch on laptop a black screen appears!! Closed

Hello,
when i switch on My IBM R51 laptop a black screen appears what can be the problem? How can i solve it? Pllllzzzzzzzz help.

Hi there,

Remove your battery,press and hold power switch for about 2 minutes,then connect power adapter to it,start system without battery,them make safe shutdown and reseat battery back.
