Main desktop connection doesnt work

Hello,

I have an XP with a netgear router. I can use the internet on my Laptop, but on my PC it states IE cannot display this web page. When I run a diagnostic it states

'windows cannot connect to the internet using HTTP, HTTPS, or FTP, this is probably caused by firewall settings on this computer'

How can I fix this problem?

Try to use ping to troubleshoot this network problem, see whether it helps.
