i cant get my laptop to connect to my tvClosed

Hello,
Im trying to connect my laptop to my tv but every time I try on my tv it says no signal and the screen on my laptop goes black.. and another thing how do I put my laptop so i can see the sreen on both my laptop and the tv ?..
