Hi,
By ethernet attachment they propably mean a pci expansion ethernet card, try installing the drivers from the disks that came with your computer, if you have no disks, you can download the drivers from the manufacturer's website (I assume you have some other internet connection if you can post this).
To identify which drivers to download there's a nice application called pcwizard which will give you the manufacturer and model details of all the hardware in your computer.
