Laptop restarts after 3 or 4 hours

Hello,
i have problem for my dell xps m1210 laptop my operating system windows 7 . my laptop restart after 3 or 4 hour .whit i can do? plz tell me some thing.

Hello Chinu,

Hard to tell, you may be running out of RAM. If you are running out of RAM what is consuming so much? It may also be the number of processes and programs running in the backgroung or a latent virus. Again, it just may be that your system is overheating.

I suggest you post a Hyjackthis log so that we can see what is going on.

I had the same problem... It restart by itself every 3-4 hours. However, I'm using Compaq presario CQ40.
I got the hijack this log below. Please let me know what is the problem before I send this laptop for fix :)

Hello,

Thank you for your log. Please don't spend a cent for repair.

I can see one obvious problem which will cause your computer to crash.

You are running Panda and Kaspersky at the same time. That is a no no! Already these applications consume a great deal of resources, they have each two or more scanning engines. Furthermore, they may come to analyse the same file thus creating a conflict and pow! The system crashes!

You must make a choice and COMPLETELY uninstall one antivirus application.

Once the application is uninstall, there will be traces of it left all over. These must also be deleted.

With Explorer check the application data and programmes files and delete any files referring to the uninstalled application.

Download and install CCleaner and scan the registry. Delete the registry entries.

After you have done the above, please let me know how your computer is performing. I am sure you will find a great difference. Should you require further assistance, you are welcome to come back to Kioskea.

I had the same problem... It restart by itself every 3-4 hours. However, I'm using acer extensa 4630z.
I got the hijack this log below. Please let me know what is the problem before I send this laptop for fix.plz.

Hello,

I am afraid to say that your system is agonizing, if it were a horse I might shot it.

It is as if someone had thrown a bucket of acid in the registry and it's a wonder how you were able to run a Hyjackthis scan.

I will give an example of existing error:

O23 - Service: @%SystemRoot%\System32\netlogon.dll,-102 (Netlogon) - Unknown owner - C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe (file missing)

Note at the end, it says "file missing" and all of the 023 services have their file missing.

Please for future reference, tell me how do you think this happened?

I propose two solutions, if the first does not work, the second, in last resort will for it is not a hardware problem.

NUMBER ONE

1. Download Combofix to your desktop.

2.Close all open Windows including this one.

Close or disable all running Antivirus, Antispyware, and Firewall programs as they may interfere with the proper running of ComboFix.

3. Double click on the ComboFix icon.

Windows is issuing this prompt because ComboFix does not have a digital signature. This is perfectly normal and safe and you can click on the Run button to continue.

4. Accept the disclaimer and the recovery

5.You should now press the Yes button to continue. If at any time during the Recovery Console installation you receive a message stating that it failed to install, please allow ComboFix to continue with the scan of your computer.

ComboFix will disconnect your computer from the Internet, so do not be surprised or concerned if you receive any warnings stating that you are no longer on the Internet. When ComboFix has finished it will automatically restore your Internet connection.

While the program is scanning your computer, it will change your clock format, so do not be concerned when you see this happen. When ComboFix is finished it will restore your clock settings to their previous settings.

If you see your Windows desktop disappear, do not worry. This is normal and ComboFix will restore your desktop before it is finished. Eventually you will see a new screen that states the program is almost finished and telling you the programs log file, or report, will be located at C:\ComboFix.txt.

Please while the tool is working, don't touch anything, let it work.

Once you are done, paste the log here and report to me on how your system is behaving.

NUMBER TWO

If Combofix did not repair your system, insert your Windows CD, boot your machine and attempt a repair.
