Forgotten phone lock code

Hello,i have a samsung s3500 and I have forgotten my phone lock code. So I can not get into my phone.

Dear Nas,

Please get the phone restored to factory settings in order to reset the lock code reset to its original one that was set by the manufacturer. This will hence get you free of the trouble.

will I have to do this by connecting my phone to the computer. this is because I can not get into my phone as it is switched of and I can't get in as when I turn it on it asks for the code.
