Hello,
I startted getting a Bluescreen error on start up and when waking the PC out of hibernation a few weeks ago, when i chose to start from last know good settings it worked fine but it stopped that and i thought i would be clever and reinstall windows which did not work and i am still getting various blue screen errors on start up and yesterday it started craching with blue screen errors of it's own accord. The PC Restarts fine without errors and if i boot in safe mode i can Restart and it boots fine, if i keep rebooting when a blue screen appears it does not load from the options screen with includes the three safe mode options, last know good configuration and start windows normally but if i get the page with options not including the last known configuration options it will boot.

I had not installed any software or hardware in the week prior to the blue screen but there was an automatic windows update and in the initial bluescreens when i could boot from last know configuration it would download another update, i'm sorry i don't know which update this was and it was before i reinstalled windows, i have recently turned off automatic updates and download them myself.

This is the info i get when i get the PC booted finally (this does not show on Restarting):

On the bluescreen itself this is what i have always got including before reinstalling windows:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

(Some info that should be here i haven't written down in my notes and i don't really want to start a bluescreen to get them but they were somewhere along the lines of:)

If this is the first time you have seen this error screen reboot and uninstall any new hardware or software.
Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If the problem persists contact your person who know what they're doing

Techincal info
STOP: 0x000000d1 (0x00000004, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x87bdd8ba)

ecache.sys-address 87bdd8ba base at 87bdb000, datestamp 4549b1da

There are errors that create dumps but i don't know what to do with them.

This is another error i have been getting this week:

STOP c0000221 unknown hard error
\systemrootzsystem32zntdll.dll

And i also get basic bluescreen errors that just say an error occured and windows had to be shut down to avoid damage or something of the like.

I don't know if this is related but i am getting lots of HOST HAS STOPPED working for various things and DATA EXECUTION PREVENTION things when windows is running, this could be a virus but AVG has not detected it.

I've tried researching the blue screen thing online to no avail of anything really applying to me, i don't know how to check if my drivers are working or if any hardware is broken, the PC is only a year old so i'd hope not.

Thankyou for your time!

Not having the problem on a restart would indicate the you hard drive is slow in starting up. If its been spinning for a while (like when you restart) then it works.

Replace your hard drive. reload windows then try to add the old hard drive and copy the files you need/want. After you have recovered your data (or given up trying) discard the old hard drive - it's due for a complete failure soon.

Hi..

I have a windows problem.
I'm using Windows Xp professional.
my computer suddenly can't go into windows anymore.
after the system hibernation, the next day suddenly it can't boot up to windows.
i tried the safe mode and last known good configuration, but after choosing, it show the BSOD and restart again..
and after the BSOD and restart , ican't use my keyboard to choose (safe mode, last good configuration, and so on)

I try to reformat it, but after i put my WInXP disc and press "enter" key for install new windows, it said that there is no HDD detected.
I remove my HDD and bring it to my friend computer, it works well..
i even tried with a new HDD which is 250 Gb, it even said that there is no HDD detected.
Quite strange.. because in Bios it is detected that there is harddisk( for both of it)

is there any solution for this??
is it hardware problem or any whatsoever they called a MBR problem or something else..

please help me soon as possible
