Problem with hard disk backup

Hi there,
I have a problem with hard disk backup. I have bought the external drive with 200GB and tried to backup my sistem C- which is only 40GB but it always stops on 3.99GB saying that either my external drive is formatted to only that much or my laptop is formatted. I'm not sure what that means and how to solve this problem? I really need to backup ASAP as I've lost my original program installation CDs!! Please help! Thanks

hiii i am tanay and i suggest u on this topis first u buy a data recovery program and than formetted ur drive . to use thi softwer u have lots of benifit like if u want ur old data for using this softwer u can catch ur 5 year old data in few hours and for using this softwer u can formetted ur drive quickley...
