Hello,

Every time I boot my pc everything comes of fine except for a loud "dud" sound at completion of boot as if I clicked on a file that cannot be found. Any ideas?

check the error log. You have some program getting an error at startup time. I would download Advanced WindowsCare from www.iobit.com. Install and run this program and let it clear out junk in the registry. Look at the "Startup Manage" tab and see if you can remove any unneeded programs.
