HDMI sound problem Please help

I just bought a Sony Bravia and I am trying to connect it to my Dell M1330 running on Vista using a HDMI cable.
Problem is when I go to Sound Playback devices I see HDMI and it show it is working fine but I can't hear any audio.
Further I cannot disable the Laptop audio nor I can set the HDMI as default..
Any suggestions
