Problems finding a file

Hello, hopefully someone can help. i have these pictures somewhere in my computer that i cannot find. when i upload pics in facebook for example, the "missing" folder,along with others, appears. however, when i try to look at that folder in my computer from the "start>pictures" menu, the other folders are there but not that one. i dont know much about computers so any suggestions?
