Retrieving erased data on a DSi

I believe I know who stole my son's DSi. Is there a way to retrieve the erased person information so I can see if I'm right? Is there a program or something, because I know in the handbook it ways you can't get that info back. And I know I should have registered it the minute he opened it - then I'd have the serial number, but he just got it a week before it was stolen.

Hi there,
Its not possible but you can take the serial of the device and match it with the stolen one serial ,take your receipt or reques the seller for the serial number of the product ,they musy be having it in their database.
