Pictures on my memory card from laptop

Hi there,
I'd transfer pictures from my laptop to my memory card that goes to my SCH-A970 samsung. When I insert my memory card to my phone and went to my picture files, the memory on my is showing empty. The pictures are not on there but when I plug the memory card back in the usb slot on my laptop and open files. It's there. The pictures!!!! So how can I get the pictures to show on my phone? Also the memory card is already formatted to the phone.
