my laptop screen is messing up Closed

My laptop screen it wont show the picture all it shows is a bunch of different color lines depending on what is suppose to be on the screen....but when i hooked it up to an external monitor it showed up fine with no problems....and my laptop is an acer travel mate 2480 series
